what would you do to make a world a better place?
note:this should gone on news and views but i figured i'd get more replies if i post here from now on
Firstly I'd ban all forms preaching outside religious buildings including through music, and media and public appearances. Secondly, I'd change the prison system so people really wouldn't want to become criminals. They could face death for the most extreme crimes, be reduced to slave labour or sent to laboritories to be experimented on for the benefit of others. Thirdly, I'd outlaw beliefs which discriminate against people because of their race, religios preference, genda and sexual orientation. Fourthly, I'd make it illegal for people to enter the country if they couldn't speak English and they'd be sent to prison for it because sending them back only makes their return possible. As part of my foreign policy I'd ban aid from been sent to countries which weren't democracies and which denied people their freedom. If a lot of assilum seakers were coming from a particular country, I'd declare war on it, because removing the regime and replacing it with a more stable one would probably mean they'd be happy to stay in the country. I'd also ban all people who took drugs from having any healthcare indefinitely. I'd make yuthinasia legal as well as prostitution. The only law on marriage which would still exist is that forced marriage would be illegal. All these changes to the way the country is run would apply in the colonies. Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle Of Man though would be absorbed into the UK. The Isle of Man would be a separate ountry within the union and the Chanel Islands would be emalgamated into one country.
i like your ideas although i'm not sure about the imigrant part
i don't think you should judge a person just bedcaus they can't speak english! in fact sometimes i think people outside europe are easier to get along with becaus some countries are more relaxed and there for do things difrently

There is a part of what I said which I should correct, it's that noone will ever again be allowed healthcare if their ilnesses are self-inflicted. This means that tea drinkers can still have treatment.
I would sever all contact with GW bush, cancel all future deals on nuclear weapons..immediately withdraw from Iraq...tighten up on the muslim population....use the money saved by becoming neutral...on the NHS, pensioners ,the unemployed and disabled to give them a decent standard of living...abandon britain's bid for the olympics as the cost is astronomical, and not worth all the hassle..allow Scotland to govern herself completely, without and interference from england, anyone caught interefering, would be beheaded! By a legitimate member of the Wallace clan ... You can tell I was born in the wrong age..smile...look into viable sources of alternative power...Scotland would become a smoke free country if the Irish can do it, there's hope for us yet!..Grin..Buy the Black Cullin mountains and make the Torridon area from Loch Maree to Liathach a site of special scientific interest,in so doing I'd protect it from greedy developers who have no respect for nature!...
